Mini winder enables scrap thermal ribbons to be reclaimed. (Film & Sheet Conversion).

THE Dusenbery Model 416 mini winder is intended to enable sound material to be rewound and reclaimed from faulty thermal transfer ribbon rolls which would otherwise have to be discarded because of poor tension control, inaccurate core alignment or because the coating is on the wrong side.

The machine is table mounted but replicates the precision of Dusenberry's 636TTR slitter. It has a footprint of 1,000 x 850 mm and accepts rolls up to 250 mm wide and 150 mm diameter on either 0.5 or 1 inch cores. Maximum speed is 150 m/minute. Unwind and rewind have Lenze drive and AC motors.

Other features are automatic tension control and diamond cut rubber rollers to eliminate trapped air. Two holders are provided for razor blades if material needs to be slit or trimmed. Short runs that do not justify the use of a large machine can also be handled, says Dusenbery. A splice table is optionally available.
