NSW:One million emails in Medich murder case
SYDNEY, April 28 AAP - Police are trawling through more than one million emails in
their murder case against property tycoon Ron Medich and four other men, a Sydney court
has been told.
In Central Local Court on Thursday, a prosecution lawyer said police had just handed
over to the accused's lawyers another one thousand pages of the brief in the case.
She said police needed to review more than one million emails that might be relevant
and also referred to the process of going through 11,000 tapped telephone conversations.
Medich, 62, who is on bail and was not required to attend court, is charged with murdering
and soliciting the murder of businessman Michael McGurk in September 2009.
Mr McGurk was killed by a single gunshot to the head outside his Cremorne home on Sydney's
lower north shore.
The cases of four other men charged in connection with Mr McGurk's death were also
mentioned on Thursday.
Mr Medich's case was adjourned to the same court on June 23.
